if you use the bible as an excuse towards being anti gay dont forget that:
- torn clothes (like ripped jeans)
- wearing clothing made from 2 different fabrics
- cutting your hair
- and working on Sundays
are all listed as abominations in the bible as well
Yo for anyone who wants to take the time to read this I’d be super pumped.Everything on that list comes from the old testament or more specifically is laid down in the Jewish law. To many people that would not be a significant factor, but as a bible college student I would like to inform you that this is incredibly important. The Jewish law is specifically meant for JEWISH people anyone who is not Jewish is considered to be a Gentile therefore Jewish law and Jewish customs do not apply to Gentiles. If you would read the new testament and take a look a Paul’s teachings specifically you would find that he urges the gentiles to not partake in Jewish customs, but to rather live in a new covenant based in love. In Ephesians 2 14-15 Paul says this “14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace…” This is the gospel that Jesus died on the cross and payed the blood sacrifice with his pure blood as required by Jewish law to atone for our sins and rose again to meet the requirements of scripture then ascended to the right hand of God to reign forever.
